CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ADMINISTRATIVE REPRESENTATIVE
The Coopérative Hydro Embrun Inc. (CHEI) is seeking a dynamic individual with strong customer service and administrative skills.
CHEI is an electricity distributor licensed by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB), providing electricity distribution services in the city of Embrun, approximately 37 km southeast of Ottawa. CHEI is responsible for the distribution and maintenance of its infrastructure, serving 2,635 customers across a service area of about 5 km². Incorporated under the Cooperative Corporations Act, CHEI is 100% owned by its members. With a team of three employees, CHEI is governed by a board of directors appointed by its members and utilizes subcontractors for the maintenance of its distribution network.
Embrun is a community within the Municipality of Russell that has seen significant residential and commercial growth over the past five years. This bilingual community, oriented towards young families, offers several elementary and secondary schools (both private and Catholic), numerous parks and recreational facilities, and a wide variety of retail businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Answer calls, provide information to customers, take messages, or direct calls to the appropriate individuals.
- Offer general information to the public and refer customers to the appropriate person.
- Collect payments from customers, prepare daily deposits, and manage a petty cash.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Establish and maintain arrangements with customers for overdue accounts.
- Maintain the share register.
- Manage and review budget plans.
- Track overdue accounts and prepare late payment and disconnection notices.
- Settle accounts payable payments.
- Prepare employee payroll and all relevant monthly and annual reports (e.g., WSIB, source deductions, T4s, and group benefit insurance).
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- College diploma in business administration or a minimum of two years of experience in customer service and administration
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Full bilingualism, both written and spoken
- Strong customer service orientation
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Desired Skills:
- Experience in account recovery
- Knowledge of Sage 50 software
- Experience in the electricity service field
